Reliance Industries Announces $12 Billion Investment in Renewable Energy Sector by 2030

In a major step toward green transformation, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced a massive investment of $12 billion (approx. ?1 lakh crore) in India’s renewable energy sector over the next five years. The announcement was made by Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani during the company’s annual general meeting held on June 24, 2025. This ambitious move aims to position Reliance as a global leader in clean energy while supporting India’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. The company will focus on developing green hydrogen, solar energy parks, battery storage systems, and next-gen clean tech manufacturing facilities across the country. Mukesh Ambani stated, “The future belongs to those who invest in sustainability today. Reliance is committed to leading India’s green energy revolution and creating millions of green jobs for our youth.” As part of the project, Reliance will establish four giga factories in Gujarat’s Dholera Special Industrial Region. These will include:
