Government Launches Free Health Checkup Scheme
The Government of India has launched Ayushman Bharat 2.0, a revamped version of the flagship healthcare scheme. From August 1, 2025, all Indian citizens aged 30 years and above will be eligible for free annual health checkups at government hospitals and registered clinics. The scheme includes blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, ECG, and cancer screenings. This preventive health approach is expected to help in early diagnosis and reduce lifestyle-related diseases. Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya stated, “Preventive care is the key to a healthy India. Early diagnosis saves lives and reduces costs.”
