Heavy Rains Disrupt Life in Patna
Torrential rains battered Patna over the weekend, leaving major roads waterlogged, disrupting traffic, and prompting the closure of all schools and colleges for 3 days. As per the IMD, over 200 mm rainfall was recorded in 48 hours — the highest in a decade. Key areas like Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar, and Bailey Road saw waist-deep water, stranding vehicles and pedestrians. Emergency services rescued over 70 people stuck in basements and underpasses. The District Magistrate has ordered all officials to stay on 24x7 flood duty. Relief camps, mobile health vans, and water pumps have been deployed across vulnerable zones.
