India to Host International Yoga Olympiad 2025
In a bid to promote holistic health and global peace, India will host the first International Yoga Olympiad in October 2025 at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of AYUSH and the UN Yoga Council, the event will see participation from 50+ countries, with over 10,000 practitioners competing in asanas, pranayama, and meditation rounds. Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, “Yoga is India’s gift to the world. This event will inspire global citizens to adopt a healthier lifestyle.” Schools and colleges will also conduct zonal qualifiers to select Indian participants.
