Researchers at IIT Delhi have developed an AI-powered medical diagnosis robot named MediBot, capable of identifying over 20 common diseases — including dengue, typhoid, flu, and hypertension — in just 5 minutes, using voice input and basic vitals. MediBot uses machine learning trained on over 1 million case histories and is designed for use in rural clinics, telemedicine centers, and mobile health vans. Trials in Haryana showed 95% accuracy, and the bot can operate without internet in offline mode. The innovation is expected to reduce doctor burden, enhance accessibility, and improve early diagnosis, especially in underserved areas.
